Privacy Policy

日本語版: プライバシーポリシー(日本語)
The developer of LOCKMEE (“the app”, “we”) takes your privacy seriously. The app is designed on one premise: your data never leaves your device. We operate no servers and no accounts that collect or store personal information about you.
In short
- Location is used only to detect that you have arrived at and stayed at a place you registered. It is processed on your device and never transmitted.
- Screen Time (Family Controls) is used only to shield the apps you choose. The developer cannot see which apps you selected.
- Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store). The developer never has access to your credit card or other payment details.
1. Information we handle and why
| Information | Purpose | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Location (your current position and the coordinates of places you register) | To detect arrival at, departure from, and time spent at the places you register, and to decide when your stay goal is met so the app lock can be lifted. | On your device only. Never transmitted. |
| Screen Time information (the apps you choose to lock) | To apply and remove the shield on the apps you selected. Because of how Apple’s Family Controls works, the app only receives anonymous tokens — the developer cannot learn app names or identities. | On your device only (an App Group container shared between the app and its extensions). Never transmitted. |
| Usage records (stay history, achievements, weekly plan, streaks, emergency-pass usage) | To show statistics, celebrations, and your plan inside the app. | On your device only. Never transmitted. |
| Purchase state (whether a subscription is active; free-trial start date) | To decide whether paid features are available. We do not handle payment details themselves. | On your device only (checked via Apple’s StoreKit). |
We do not collect anything else — no name, email address, contacts, photos, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers. There is no account to sign up for.
2. Location
- How it is used: the app sets up a “geofence” around each place you register (up to five) and detects when you enter or leave it in order to measure your stay. It does not continuously track your GPS position; detection happens only around your registered places.
- “Always” permission: to detect your arrival automatically while the app is closed, iOS location access must be set to “Always”. You can also use the app with “While Using the App”, in which case you open the app when you arrive and check in manually.
- Storage and transmission: we do not keep a history of your location. What is stored is the coordinates of the places you registered and the records of time spent there — all of it stays on your device and is never sent to any server.
- Changing your choice: you can change or revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → LOCKMEE.
3. Screen Time (Family Controls)
- How it is used: the app uses Apple’s official Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls / ManagedSettings / DeviceActivity) with “individual” authorization for your own device. It shows a shield (lock screen) over the apps you selected and removes or re-applies the shield when you meet your goal or at the daily reset time (4:00 AM).
- What the developer cannot see: you pick apps in Apple’s own picker (FamilyActivityPicker), and the app receives only anonymized tokens. The developer cannot learn which apps you chose or how much you use them, and the app does not read usage data for any other apps.
- Not a parental-control app: there is no feature to manage or monitor anyone else’s device, including a child’s.
- Changing your choice: you can revoke Screen Time authorization at any time in iOS Settings → Screen Time. Deleting the app removes every shield the app applied to your device.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- All payments for the monthly and yearly subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Credit-card numbers and other payment details are held by Apple; the developer never has access to them.
- The app checks your purchase state only through Apple’s StoreKit. The developer does not store purchase history on any server.
- The start date of your free trial is stored on your device so the app can tell when the trial ends.
- Apple’s handling of payment information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
5. No transmission, no third parties
The app does not send any of the information above — or any other user information — to any server. We do not share or sell information with third parties. The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
6. Notifications
The app may show local notifications when you arrive at a registered place, when you reach your goal, and at your daily reset. All notifications are generated on your device (no remote push notifications are used), and you can change notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
7. Storage, backups, and deletion
- All data the app stores lives on your device. Whether it is included in your device backups (iCloud or computer) depends on your own iOS backup settings; the developer has no access to those backups.
- Deleting the app deletes all data the app stored on your device and removes any shields it applied.
8. Children’s privacy
The app is for people who want to manage their own device. It offers no parental-control features for supervising a child. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not collect personal information from users of any age.
9. Security
Data is stored inside the iOS app sandbox and cannot be read by other apps. Because nothing leaves your device, there is structurally no risk of interception in transit.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the update on this page. For material changes we will also let you know inside the app.
